THE PRIMITIVES - Maladjusted (1964-1967)

The Primitives were raw r&b/mod group from Northampton, also known as Mal & the Primitives. They released their first 45 "Help me" in November 1964. In '65 they realised 45 "You Said"  in the words of Record Collector magazine, "one of the toughest R&B tracks ever recorded". They had a few more 45's before moving to Italy where they achieved big success and released legendary Blow Up album in 1967.
Maladjusted rounds up their work during this 1964-67 period, the entire Blow Up album and all of their 45s. Yeeeeh!

THE BIRDS [UK 60's Mod/Freakbeat]

Great 60's r&b/mod band from west London started out in 1964 and quickly became well known on the rhythm and blues scene in England. They had a similar sound to rival bands such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things, etc., but never achieved the same status. Starting out with a hard R&B sound, they later began infusing it with Motown-style vocal harmonies.
The best known member of The Birds is Ronnie Wood, who later went on to join The Creation, Faces and later The Rolling Stones. Having recorded 3 singles for Decca and a final disc for Reaction; the band split up in 1967, partially based on the name confusion with Los Angeles group The Byrds. Dig!

01 - You're On My Mind

07 - Say Those Magic Words
08 - Daddy Daddy

They had a brief appearance in the horror film The Deadly Bees, performing their song
"That's All I Need"
